Four Year Plan Template: A Four Year Plan document helps students plan out their academic career.
*Non-Thesis* Honors Contract: The Honors Contract allows students to set up honors coursework via contract (Research Assistantships, Independent Studies, and Internships). Students seeking to be enrolled in HONR 4198 must complete the Senior Thesis Honors Contract listed below.

Please combine the form and related document(s) into a single PDF and email the file to an Honors Advisor. Evaluation rubrics/grading schemes are required to be provided for your assignments. An example grading rubric is available here.
All Honors Contracts for the Fall 2026 semester are due Friday, September 11th, 2026 by 5pm. All submissions must be emailed directly to a Program Manager.
Honors DegreeMAP Petition Form: Effective beginning the 2023-2024 academic year, you must be enrolled in the HONR 2047 or 2053 section of a cross-listed course to receive Honors credit. If you register in a course under the non-Honors section, it cannot count towards your upper-level requirements. For departmental thesis credit questions, please review the Senior Thesis Handbook.

Student Handbook Academic Year 2025-2026: The UHP Student Handbook contains a broad overview of the expectations and requirements of Honors students for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Upper-Level Course Substitution Option: The Upper-Level Course Substitution webpage contains information on how to substitute one non-Honors course for an upper-level Honors course requirement. If a UHP student can demonstrate that they will benefit personally and intellectually from that course, they may be granted an exception to count one non-UHP course toward the UHP upper-level course requirements.
The deadline for Spring 2026 Upper-Level Course Substitution requests has passed. The UHP is now considering Upper-Level Course Substitution requests for Fall 2026 only.
The deadline for Fall 2026 Upper-Level Course Substitution requests is Friday, August 28, 2026.
To have a request considered for the Fall 2026 semester, students MUST meet with a Program Manager before Tuesday, August 25, 2026 to discuss their proposed course.

The Senior Thesis Information Packet provides all the information concerning the Senior Thesis and Honors capstone requirements.

Senior Thesis Honors Contract

The Senior Thesis Honors Contract allows students to be registered for HONR 4198 (Honors Senior Thesis).

Self-enrollment in HONR 4198 is not permitted. Students must complete the following steps before the UHP will enroll students into HONR 4198:

Submit the Honors Senior Thesis Communication Form in junior year (link provided directly from the UHP).
Submit the Senior Thesis Honors Contract. Contract must be approved before enrollment will be completed.

All Honors Senior Thesis Contract for the Fall 2026 semester are due Friday, September 11th, 2026 by 5pm. All submissions must be emailed directly to a Program Manager. For any questions or concerns, please contact a Program Manager.

Senior Thesis Verification Form

Seniors must fill out a Senior Thesis Verification Form if they complete their senior thesis in their school and/or major. Students do NOT need to complete this if they are pursuing a senior thesis via the Honors Program (HONR 4198). Students must complete the following step before the UHP will accept the Senior Thesis Verification Form.

Submit the Honors Senior Thesis Communication Form in junior year (link provided directly from the UHP).
